About the project

C4CC project aims to simultaneously offer creative solutions to two important societal issues – lack of awareness on climate change, and exclusion of senior citizens upon retirement.

The target groups are, therefore, senior citizens and young people, and the project relies on intergenerational learning that will facilitate the inclusion of older generations into society and enable exchange of knowledge and solutions regarding climate change between younger and older individuals. The Calendar for Climate Change project will give to seniors the opportunity to offer their hidden knowledge to today’s digital and tech-savvy generations in exchange for the technical know-how that younger generations take for granted. Senior learners can support younger ones and show them the way to fight climate change, while younger learners can offer their knowledge of technological platforms so as to help seniors become part of the current digital transition of European society.

The output of the project will be a digital calendar, with teaching resources that support the implementation of 12 high-tech and 12 low-tech solutions for climate change – one high-tech and one low-tech solution for each month in the year!

GOALS

  • Raising awareness about climate change
  • Fostering the inclusion of senior citizens through intergenerational learning
  • Development of a mobile app with teaching resources supporting the implementation of 12 high-tech and 12 low-tech solutions for climate change
