About the project

SENSE OF COMMUNITY project deals with social inclusion, employability and entrepreneurial initiative of disadvantaged adult learners from rural areas and/or impoverished communities, and its goal is to use the potential of community-based entrepreneurship as an opportunity for improvement. It was created in response to:

  • the low level of participation in lifelong learning opportunities in partner countries, as well as a worrying number of adults with low qualifications;
  • the significant need for additional training and retraining;
  • unemployment and lack of jobs in the local labour market of rural communities;
  • the need for offering new and continuous learning opportunities to support social inclusion, employability and entrepreneurial initiative of disadvantaged individuals.

GOALS

  • To develop knowledge, skills and abilities of 20 educators of adults from partner countries in order to create entrepreneurial opportunities aimed at empowering disadvantaged adult learners from rural regions and/or impoverished communities through the promotion of reciprocal employment and peer learning activities at an international level.

  • To increase social inclusion, employability and entrepreneurial initiative of 25 disadvantaged adult learners from rural regions and/or impoverished communities through 1 international learning activity about community entrepreneurship, and 1 experiential learning programme.
