LEARNING FORWARD 21

LEARNING FORWARD 21 project is focused on the networking of regional adult education providers with the aim of creating modern leaning centres in two partner regions (Rijeka, Croatia, and Little Carpathians, Slovakia). In this way we want to contribute to an open and inclusive regional education environment for the 21st century. The centres will offer flexible and innovative modules that will be delivered in person, online, or in hybrid format. The modules will be focused on “green” and civic competencies of citizens, while also developing their language and media skills.

The project is a response to the need for increasing the number of learners in the Slovakian and Croatian adult education systems, as well as raising awareness on the advantages and potential of adult education among the populace and, especially, local authorities. The need for developing key competencies for the 21st century, in particular green and civic ones, is also quite clear.

TARGET GROUPS

The primary target group are regional adult education providers in the area of Rijeka and Little Carpathians. The project is based on the so-called collective impact theory, which will be piloted through networking of service providers, identification of common programme and goals, data collection, establishment of relationships with key regional stakeholders (local and regional public authorities, schools, NGOs, etc.), as well as through open and consistent communication so as to build mutual trust. End users of project results will be members of local/regional communities (Rijeka, Little Carpathians) who will have at their disposal accessible, open and flexible 21st century education.
