About the project

In today’s politics, migrants and minorities are regularly mentioned in a negative context, linking them to crisis, migration and terrorism. This trend is opposed to EU values and goals aimed at expanding intercultural dialogue by bringing together people of different cultures.

Europe is experiencing the largest number of migrants in its history. Migration brings diversity, and intercultural dialogue is an effective antidote to the spread of stereotypes and the polarization of public opinion. Therefore, it is necessary to act in order to promote diversity, tolerance and respect for EU values. The mission of the ANTIDOTE project is to take the necessary steps against the frequent stigmatization of migrants and minorities, responding to the need to establish a common foundation of different cultures and communities by promoting understanding and interaction. The partners and stakeholders of the project, consisting of local authorities, citizens and recognized non-governmental organizations, place great emphasis on education as an antidote to the polarization of public opinion with the aim of teaching citizens the values of tolerance. It is necessary to actively promote intercultural dialogue in order to reduce the share of conflicts and marginalization of migrants and minorities. The ANTIDOTE project wants to encourage intercultural dialogue between citizens of the European Union and migrants and help overcome stereotypes. It also wants to raise awareness of the richness of the cultural and linguistic environment in the EU, promote tolerance, and contribute to the development of a respectful, dynamic and multiple identity of the EU.
