SKILLS+

SKILLS+ project deals with exchange of best practices related to the establishment of sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships between persons with disabilities and middle and small businesses (MSB). The focus is on learning through work, i.e., acquiring workplace experiences, for example, “hard” skills such as business knowledge and “soft” skills such as teamwork, flexibility, creativity, dealing with stress, etc.

In many countries organisations have to respect established quotas and employ persons with disabilities. Nevertheless, despite numerous documents, strategies and plans related to employment of persons with disabilities, and due to the negative stereotypes surrounding them, they are still faced with many difficulties when looking for work.

This project will increase the experience of persons with disabilities in line with demand on the labour market. Therefore, persons with disabilities will no longer be judged by their disability, but by their competencies. The main purpose of the project is to increase employability of this target group.

The partnership was established under the successful Para-Skills-Competition Erasmus+ project, encompassing 6 participating EU countries and 5 professions (“green” jobs, hospitality, “electro”, ICT, and healthcare). The project yielded good results and quality examples in partner countries, which is why partner institutions decided to include one more country to transfer knowledge, best practices and resulting methodologies to. This project is embedded in the broader mission of the EU, where inclusion and differences are seen as landmarks of an advanced and just society.
