S2CENE

The S2CENE-Strengthening Second Chance Education project deals with the reintegration of individuals into education.

The project aims to establish national and regional networks of educational institutions, and so-called second chance schools in partner countries and raise awareness of the social need for them. By connecting learners with education systems and promoting a positive attitude towards learning, the project combats the social exclusion of teenagers and young people.

The project–S2CENE–is a European program recognised asstrategic for:

• Combating social exclusion of the general population, especially teenagers and young adults
• Reconnecting learners with education and training systems, necessary to overcome the above challenges and problems
• Promoting a positive attitude of teenagers and young adults towards learning, contributing to strengthening the lifelong learning objectives defined by the European Union
• Promoting the development of the “whole person” with an impact on the acquisition of basic and key competencies, strengthening personality, and access to the labor market.

The S2CENE project aims to contribute to:

• Creation of second chance schools in 2 partnership countries (BG and HR)
• Establishment of formal national networks of second chance schools for adult education in 3 partnership countries (PT, BG, and HR)
• Institutional and positional strengthening of the European Network of Second Chance Schools (E2C Europe–FR).

To ensure the creation of SCS news and the establishment of formal national networks of second chance schools, the consortium will provide a set of documents and resources, encouraging:

• Construction of local or regional networks
• Professional development of staff
• Strengthening the capacity of second-chance schools
• Communication and engagement of experts and experts working in adult education and the environment of the Second Chance School.
