About the project
The Erasmus+ GOLDEN SKILLS project aims to develop an education programme for parents and to provide them with the right tools and knowledge for developing pedagogical competencies that they need in order to teach their own children about finances and financial literacy. Financial literacy is a key competence, i.e., an indispensable skill for inclusion, just as any other form of literacy.
The GOLDEN SKILLS project will be successful thanks to the creation of training paths, improvement of availability, and strengthening of adult education.
GOALS
To provide the right tools and knowledge to parents, so that they can teach their children about financial literacy.
OUTPUTS
Five partner organisations will develop four free online learning resources that will be available in all partners’ languages:
- 32 teaching tools for teens aged 13 to 19, with emphasis on 8 financial literacy topics: money, its importance in everyday life, budgeting and managing one’s personal finances, financial mathematics, income and earning money, spending money, saving money, borrowing money, and the importance of financial literacy for an independent life.
- Infographics for each topic, so as to increase the appeal of the tools targeting teens. Each infographic will contain 4 QR codes that lead directly to a fully interactive online version containing an array of learning tools embedded as videos, WebQuests, adventure stories based on challenges, and quizzes.
- Digital portals that will support innovative online learning courses.
- Educational programmes for parents that will show them how to teach real life financial skills to their children. The education programme will be delivered as four two-hour workshops covering different topics.
