FAMILY FOOTPRINTS project supports families and communities across Europe to prepare for twin transition – a cleaner, greener and more digitally connected Europe – by learning how to manage their digital and ecological footprint.
About the project
FAMILY FOOTPRINTS project supports families and communities across Europe to prepare for twin transition – a cleaner, greener and more digitally connected Europe – by learning how to manage their digital and ecological footprint.
What is twin transition? It pertains to European policy goals aimed at supporting European communities in the development of their digital skills so as to become full-fledged participants in digital society and the economy of the future; all the while increasing their knowledge of climate change issues in order to be able to bring climate-friendly decisions in everyday life.
Through the FAMILY FOOTPRINTS project, we wish to implement a completely new model of family learning to support local families in our communities in the development of digital skills necessary to embrace digital transition, and the evaluation of their own habits in order to support transition to a more sustainable way of life.
The output of the project is:
- A pedagogy induction programme for parents: This training programme for parents will support them in their role of assistants in the family learning model that will be developed through a series of practical workshops for parents, so that they could become leaders of family learning for digital and climate literacy.
- Twin transition: Digital and climate literacy programme for parents: The programme will focus on two key topics: digital literacy and climate literacy aimed at supporting parents in the development of their digital literacy and competencies.
- Family learning tools – comic books, interactive magazines and audio books: This toolkit will provide learning materials adapted to family members of different age groups.
- The professional training programme for learners and teachers in adult education: The adapted training programme will ensure participants are fully able to use potential education resources developed within the family learning model.
Expected additional outcome of the project, among other, includes support to families across Europe in the development of their digital readiness to embrace twin transition to a greener digital society.
