Inclusion of Minorities and Migrants
COURSE SUMMARY
The course is aimed at all teachers, staff, professionals, and persons working in culturally diverse educational contexts. Participants will gain a better understanding of the challenges that diversity brings into the classroom and develop the necessary skills for managing it. More specifically, participants will have the opportunity to analyze the influence of culture on behaviour and communication as well as strengthen their mediation skills in conflicts caused by cultural differences.
This course is based on the idea that successful integration is a two-way street, and that, for the successful integration, capacity building and awareness raising need to be conducted with both the people arriving to society and the receiving communities.
The workshop will provide practical insight, raise awareness and develop the abilities of professionals and practitioners in host communities in terms of intercultural sensitivity and competency.
