How to teach adults? Key skills for teachers in adult education
COURSE SUMMARY
This course is aimed at all teachers and staff working with adult learners in both a formal and non-formal context. This course is an opportunity for teachers to (further) develop essential teaching competencies necessary to work with and manage adult target groups, as well as their needs and expectations.
Teachers participating in the course will have the opportunity to adopt and employ a variety of methods and activities that focus on increasing the motivation and participation of adult learners, with the primary objective of increasing the number of adults in lifelong learning by making the learning process more interactive and attractive.
Emphasis will be placed on methods that can be used to create a relaxed and welcoming learning environment for adult learners, as well as activities to increase learner interaction and communication.
Teachers will have the opportunity to update and refresh their knowledge and exchange their experiences and examples of good practice with other teachers.
OUTCOMES
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
- apply new and innovative teaching methods
- apply inclusive and students-focused methods
- use different strategies to address adult learners’ individual needs
- analyze advantages and disadvantages of formal and non-formal education systems
- increase adult learners’ motivation
- meet colleagues from other European countries, share experiences and examples of good practice
